OUR MISSION
Small trash dumps left by tourists, picknickers and locals can be found almost the entire length of the Trsic-Tronosa pedestrian path, an old road leading to the Tronosa monastery where Vuk first learned his literary ways. These dumps and their size threaten plant and animal life as well as the allure of the tourist site.
In order to solve these problems we decided to organize an international volunteer ecology camp. The camp will be organized in association with the "Young Researchers of Serbia" and through its programs "Voluntary Service of Serbia" and environment protection program, municipality of Loznica, Tourist Organization of Loznica and many other local entrepreneurs.
The camp will be held from May 19, 2008 through May 29, 2008 and will involve local activists, students and population as well as 10 international volunteers who attended ecology camps worldwide.
The dynamics of the camp and the activities of its participants are detailed in the camp agenda and include three-layer solution to the problem:
- 1. Collecting and classification of waste for further recycling and removal of small dumps.
- 2. Environmental and recycling education.
- 3. Finding a long-term solution to this problem in cooperation with communal services.
The activities of the camp will be covered by local and national written and electronic media, through the publications of our partner organization "Young Researchers of Serbia" and via the official website (www.kamp-trsic.org.rs).
