2010 Eco-camp Trsic is organized by local organizations: Udruženje domaćina Tršić, NVO Deca i Prijatelji, NVO Da budemo zdravi, and Youth Creative Club, the holder of EKO CYCLE TRŠIĆ 2011. project, of which this year's activities included the eco-camp organization.
The camp was formed in 2008 when we independently organized it in association with local organizations and with a great help of sponsorships provided by local companies.
3. EKO PUT Tršić 2010. took place between May 24 and June 6, 2010. gatherd more than 20volunteers from France, Germany, South Korea, Czech Republic, Great Britain and Serbia.
The work camp activities traditionally in connection with the nature, ecology and sustainable development. The activities include, first of all, cleaning of forest paths, clearing of mini landfills, popularization of ecological tourism, raising of local population's awareness because these work camps traditionally attract a lot of media attention.
The 2nd International Volunteer Work Camp, which took place between May 25 and June 8, 2009. gathered a total of 20 volunteers from France, Spain, Belgium, South Korea, Hungary, Poland, Ukraine, Croatia, Switzerland and Serbia.
During these two weeks, in spite of unfavorable weather, the volunteers managed to: clean about 40 km of forest paths, cut and clear the vegetation on 15 km of forest paths, remove 4 mini landfills, set up 2 resting places, make and install 30 road signs. Lecturers from the Young Researchers of Serbia association held the one-day course in recycling and Serbian culture and language. The volunteers also enjoyed the visit to cultural and historical monuments of the region, which was organized for them.
The results of Eco-camp Tršić 2008. were beyond all expectations of the organizers, participants and sponsors. Many mini scrap yards on the territory of Tršić and Tronoša were cleaned up, as well as a big one in Tronoša, at the very beginning of “Vuk’s path to school”. Eleven trucks and two tractors with trailers were loaded with all kinds of trash collected in this area and driven to the city dump.
Within the scope of Eco-camp, the first containers for recycling of PET and ALU packaging were placed in this area. So far, five containers have been set in the municipality Loznica in association with private companies that have recognized the need for environment protection.
